Job Description
The Data Protection Office is the central core of the organizational-wide Data Protection Structure and ensures a consolidated and standardized approach within the Data Protection Program of Opel Vauxhall Finance (OVF). We have an open position in our Team in Potsdam for a Data Protection Manager
Main Duties:
You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Data Protection and the overall Data Protection Team in the development, management and maintenance of the organizational-wide Data Protection Program.
You are involved in the developing and maintaining a sound understanding of the existing regulatory environment in relation to Data Protection; supporting with various aspects of identifying Data Protection risks, supporting local Data Protection Officers (DPOs); cooperating with relevant stakeholders including Information Security, Procurement, Legal and IT and supporting the development of appropriate controls within the Program.
The Data Protection Team relies on your support in promoting organizational compliance with applicable rules, laws and regulations.
In consultation with Legal, develop and maintain current knowledge of GDPR and of applicable Data Protection related laws, rules, regulations, guidance to support the promotion to organizational adaptation and compliance regarding Data Protection
You will liaise with the DPO’s in the enhancement, maintenance and delivery of a Data Protection monitoring and testing program (Data Protection Control Framework)
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law or Economics/IT or related field required
Sound knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other Data Protection related Laws and Regulations
3-5 years of Data Protection related experience as Data Protection Officer/ Manager or within similar roles or certification in Data Protection
Fundamental knowledge about IT security standards, IT profiling, interfaces and encryption standards
3 years or more of management experience
Demonstrated experience with Data Protection compliance risk management, including risk identification, evaluation, mitigation and management
Experience regarding the development of Data Protection compliance management systems; Data Protection compliance management framework development and execution
Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload individually and for junior staff, balance multiple cross-functional duties and drive deadlines in a consistent manner
Support presentations, reviews, discussions from Data Protection topics to all relevant stakeholders
