Alphanumeric is hiring a Remote Compliance & Data Protection Officer for our Medical Information Contact Center
As the Compliance Officer, reporting to the Global Comliance Manager, your primary responsibility is to guarantee that our business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal and internal guidelines.
As the Regional Compliance and Data Protection Officer (DPO), the ideal candidate will be based in Lisbon, the Compliance and DPO will have overall responsibility for understanding the GDPR and ensuring the organization’s compliance, managing information security, and serving as the main point of contact for the data protection authorities.
The Compliance and DPO will also serve as a key member of the Compliance organization, helping to evolve and uphold the Compliance Program and Internal Control Framework.
Requirements
Responsibilities will include:
Ensuring the organization’s information security.
Handling of all calls/contact from data subjects who may contact the data protection officer with questions related to the processing of their personal data and to the exercise of their rights under the GDPR.
Educating the organization’s employees of their obligations under the GDPR and any other applicable EU member state data protection provisions.
Designing and delivering training to staff on procedures for ensuring compliance.
Designing processes for ongoing monitoring of key control processes, and providing periodic assurance reporting of monitoring outcomes.
Overseeing, as necessary, the work of an independent auditor engaged to perform and render an independent audit opinion as to the strength of the organization's data protection systems and processes and compliance with applicable regulations.
Performing data protection impact assessments, as outlined in Article 35 of the GDPR.
Serving as the organization’s liaison with the data protection supervisory authority, and cooperate with any requests.
Leading the compliance program efforts in the EMEA region in collaboration with the Global Compliance Officer and other Regional Compliance Officers.
Required Skills/Experience
The Regional Compliance and DPO must have the technical expertise to conduct GDPR assessments and a legal understanding of privacy laws in the European Union. The ideal candidate will be as comfortable advising executives on what data protection strategy to adopt as explaining the subtleties of the GDPR to entry-level staff and customers.
Over 5 years of experience working with EU and global privacy laws, including drafting of privacy policies, technology provisions, and working on compliance
Demonstrated record of engaging with emerging laws and technologies
Experience in legal and technical training and in awareness-raising
Experience in dealing successfully with different business cultures and industries
Excellent written and spoken English
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence without authority
Proven ability to generate plans from strategy and drive through to successful execution.
Experience coordinating audits.
