BI & Analytics Technical Lead

The Company.

For one of our clients an international Shared Service Center based in Barcelona, we are currently recruiting a BI & Analytics Technical Lead.

The Job.

Being part of the wider global Applications Team, you will directly report to the BI & Analytics Director. You will hold a key senior technical role with the focus on leading technical data teams. The main tasks include:

– Ensure quality assurance of the team’s technical deliverables
– Enforcing technical standards for the team inline with BI & Analytics strategy
– Being the technical coach and mentor
– Working very close with the BI supplier team to agree on global ways of working and transition internal capability
– Acting as technical lead in the global team while holding also a handson development position
– Collaborating with BI & Analytics Director to define and implement companywide community of practice (software developers) to spread best practice to enable growth in roles and knowledge sharing
– Design, develop, test and document high quality technical data solutions according to business demand
– Playing a leading role in the implementation of delivery process (iterative/agile) within the global delivery hub

The Profile.

The ideal candidate has a strong BI development background and has previous experience as technical manager. Beside your strong technical skills, you need excellent communication skills and have to be able to work closely together with other resources in and outside of the hub.

– Excellent level of English (Spoken/written)
– Excellent BI and Data Warehousing skills
– Power BI experience
– Strong Microsoft SQL Server and Analysis Services (ideally SSAS Tabular) skills
– Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform and services
– Data modelling: Kimball methodologies
– Saas/PaaS/IaaS
– Microsoft TFS/VSTS
– Excellent technical skills and able to lead by example
– Excellent technical aptitude with desire to learn new skills
– Natural technical leader
– Solution and delivery oriented with excellent problemsolving skills
– Analytical and strong attention to detail
