Accountant (based in Malta)

We are looking to recruit an Accountant, to join a small but efficient team within the maritime sector. Reporting to the accounting manager, you will provide accurate measurable information on the financial position, liquidity and cash flow of the business.

What is expected of you?

Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
Post and process journal entries
Manage balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements
Calculate interest and installments related to internal debt
Report monthly and quarterly financials to head office
Monthly closing and reconciliation
Report in SAP
Complete Tax / Vat reporting to Maltese Authorities
Ad hoc administrative tasks

What are you expected to bring?

A relevant qualification in accounting or finance
A minimum of 5 years' work experience
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP
Hands-on experience with accounting software
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Experience with general ledger functions
A precise and structured approach to work with excellent attention to detail and good analytical skills
Additional certification (CPA or CMA) would be considered an asset
