Teaching Underserved Youth

Program Description

This project aims at improving Basic English skills of the underprivileged youth. The program covers those in the age group of 12-15 years. The school provides free or affordable education to youth who are orphaned or whose families have little or no income.

In short, the program seeks to improve the listening, speaking and reading skills of the students. Give back to the local community in a meaningful manner as you benefit the youth in a project that will have long-term benefits.

Work alongside volunteer teachers at public school providing education to the most vulnerable youth, supporting counselling, environmental and social awareness. This project brings you to the heart of the vibrant Moroccan city of Marrakech.

Program highlights

• Opportunities to participate in extra activities that lead to a better intercultural understanding (i.e. trips, visit some cultural events)
• Being introduced as international interns/volunteers to other aspects of the placement; for example social or community events.
• Onsite orientation and training.
• Specific, structured job responsibilities.
• Tasks appropriate for international people.
• Available staff to adequately supervise interns/volunteers.
• A safe workplace, with protections against discrimination, harassment, and exploitation of the volunteer.
