Mente Argentina Medical/Public Health Internship

This medical internship puts students in the center of the action in two of Buenos Aires’ best public hospitals.

Interns assist in local public health care centers, clinics, and hospitals that provide free medical and social services and health and safety information to community members. Interns put their time, medical skills and abilities to use in this program, working with clinic staff, assisting in medical procedures, health and safety workshops, and information sessions.

Participants also assist in social services, spending quality time with patients, reading or playing games, and helping improve the overall quality of the patients stay at the hospital. Students with medical experience/training would be able to assist doctors at a local community center in a variety of different areas depending on his or her specific previous experience and capacities.

The Mente Argentina Internship Program boasts an optional 20 hour Spanish immersion course during your first week on-site. The class will be from Monday to Friday, 9AM-1PM. You will be able to learn medical terminology and the language necessary to be successful in your internship.
