Program Description
The Foundation for Sustainable Property development works with more than 250 partner organizations to create incremental, lasting change in communities around the globe. With the Intern Abroad program, participants assist make that modification happen through a hands-on internship experience. It's an extreme, immersive program for students and young professionals planning to get international development training and experience.
FSD has 10 sites in 6 countries: Bolivia, Argentina, Kenya, India, Nicaragua, and Uganda. Each place is distinct in its culture, history, level of development, and more; partners at all places have shown a determination and capability to work with FSD to enhance their local communities. Our site teams at each site actively develop relationships with brand-new and recognized host households and local partners to facilitate safe, culturally immersive, and developmentally impactful programs.
FSD internships can be as short as nine weeks or as long as a full year. The more time a participant is able to commit to a project—laying the foundation, doing the work, evaluating results, and adjusting accordingly—the more effective it can be.
