SACI Florence MFA in Studio Art

Program Description

SACI’s two year MFA in Studio Arts focuses on Drawing or Painting. The community of students work together in a creative environment while utilizing the unique artistic & historical resources of Florence. Students have the opportunity to live and create in the city that revolutionized art during the Renaissance. The city has since served as an inspiration for generations of artists—including our SACI students!

Individual studios are available for our MFA students in a fully renovated palazzo, which is located in the heart of Florence. Students have access to an amazing array of galleries and museums at their fingertips, including the great works that have drawn artists to visit the city and be inspired by its surroundings and artwork. During the graduate seminars, students interview art critics and museum curators while also exploring contemporary art practices and artist studios in Florence and throughout Tuscany. Students have the unique opportunity to travel to major art sites, other internationa art destinations and attend international art fairs throughout Italy.
