Program Description

The goal of undertaking the MSc Course in Molecular Biology is to gain a deeper understanding of the field of molecular biology. Students learn how to apply molecular biology techniques and are provided with the tools to learn foundational theory and methodology. Students will be part of multidisciplinary teams as they are trained to tackle scientific issues using a multidisciplinary approach. Understand the practical and theoretical aspects of biological data and methods to use results in basic and applied research. Students have a choice of specialization in pharmacology, medical biology, cell-biology and microbiology, genomics and biochemistry. Degrees qualify for entrance into European doctoral courses and programs as well as for a wide range of other career opportunities. The University of Debrecen also has doctoral programs that are open to students who have graduated from our master program of molecular biology.

Students with the following degrees may apply and be accepted if they have a minimum of 40 out of the required 60 credits from criteria subjects: At least a BSc in natural sciences (chemistry, environmental studies), agricultural sciences, technical sciences (bioengineering), medical or health sciences.
