Outward Bound CR: Coast-to-Coast Expedition Semester (17+)

Program Description

Cross Costa Rica on this 85-day adventure, from Nicaragua to Costa Rica to Panama. Pick up Spanish language, culture, and traditions as you immerse yourself at rural homestays along your 26-day journey on foot through the spectacular valleys and rainforests of Costa Rica. In addition to exploring Costa Rica by hiking, surfing and whitewater rafting, venture into the neighboring country of Panama where you will scuba dive tropical coral reefs of the Caribbean Ocean. Rappel waterfalls, sea kayak through the tropical archipelago of Bocos del Toro in Panama, and surf the waves of the Pacific. Engage with your coursemates on challenges in the field, and with the locals at indigenous communities in Panama and community service projects in Nicaragua. Earn up to 12 academic credits as well as First Aid and CPR certifications upon successful completion of the course.
