Program Description
Volunteers with this program will help to mitigate the detrimental effects of cruelty and abuse by people, the entertainment industry’s use of animals, illegal pet trade, hunting, and loss of habitat that is straining the populations of wild animals in Thailand. We have partnered with a local organization that helps with rescuing wildlife and providing, research, community education, rehabilitation, and medical care to these animals. The centre was built on temple land and provides shelter for the animals to live in or be rehabilitated.
There are birds, crocodiles, bears, tigers and leopards, small cats, loris, civets, gibbons, and macaques at the centre. This organization aims to release injured animals back into the wild if possible and to provide medical treatment. Those who are unable to go back into the wild will live out their days in the sanctuary in comfortable and spacious conditions.
