Program Description

VIN presents a Journalism Program that will help participants boost their experience in all fields of journalism including print, photography, or audio-visual. This is a great program for those on gap years or taking a career break as they contemplate pursuing a fulfilling career in journalism.

This program will help volunteers and interns build a strong work international work portfolio. The program takes place in Nepal and is conducted alongside national daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly publications. You can work in a variety of fields including Film and Documentary Making, Print Journalism, and Photo Journalism. If you are already in the field of journalism, this volunteer opportunity will provide you with a broader experience as you work in a country facing major social and political upheaval.

As a volunteer with the Journalism Project, you will create a professional portfolio suitable for large publications as you learn how these organizations are run. This will be an immensely valuable experience no matter what field you end up entering.
