Dog Rescue in Nepal

Program Description

In Kathmandu Valley, there are over 35,000 street dogs and over 20,000 street dogs in Kathmandu itself. These dogs have the potential to transmit rabies through dog bites and also create health issues through overpopulation. The government’s previous policy was to ignore injured and sick animals as well as to poison dangerous dogs.

The growing concern over this issue led to the rise of a successful program that has vaccinated, neutered, and spayed over 14,000 dogs so far. This is an important service that aids both the animals and people in the region. Be a part of the solution in Kathmandu by volunteering your time in an animal hospital and busy shelter.
