Animal Rescue and Conservation

Program Description

Travel to the luscious rainforests of Costa Rica and be part of a committed team that works on the preservation of the local wildlife. Costa Rica has a lot to offer, but due to deforestation and relaxed conservation efforts many of the natural wildlife have been over hunted and their survival is limited. Volunteers will work in national parks across the country working on various conservation projects. There are two centers where volunteers work, the Wildlife Rescue Center and Paradero Animal Rescue Center. Each Center receives injured, sick, or orphaned animals, which are then rehabilitated and released into the wild. Volunteers will have a variety of responsibilities such as preparing food for the animals, maintaining enclosures and trails, and providing information to visitors at the center. Days are long and tiring, but it is very rewarding work and volunteers will be able to see the changes they’re making.
