Study Abroad: Bali with Dell'Arte International

Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre Study Abroad: Bali program is a unique month-long immersion in the traditional performing arts of Bali and Balinese culture. The art spirit permeates every aspect of Balinese life. Mask carving, shadow puppetry, kecak chant, dance and music are the basis of Balinese performing arts, and our study with Balinese masters brings participants in touch with daily life in Bali. Accomodations are near Ubud, the artistic center of Bali, in a complex of bungalows surrounding gardens and swimming pool. Full breakfast is included. Now entering its 20th year, this program has attracted students from India, Sweden, Denmark, Brazil, Korea, Canada and the USA. Immersion in the culture of Bali through daily contact with Balinese masters and their families; "a life-transforming experience" is the most common response from participants in this program. Most Bali programs are guided tours that touch upon the beauty of sacred sites, tourist performances, and beach areas. The Dell'Arte program is uniquely designed to share how the Balinese relationship to art permeates their daily life, religion, ceremonies, healing practices, and education.
