Program Description
The program consists of 4 ½ hours a day, five days a week of intensive one-on-one Spanish instruction, with professionals, complemented with lectures, movies and documentaries on topics related to Guatemala and Latin America: Mayan Cosmovision, politics, economics, religion, women’s issues, etc.; trips to places of cultural interest, hikes and treks to volcanoes, lakes, coffee plantations, etc; volunteer opportunities in our own community projects: reforestation, day care center, greenhouse, scholarship program, social work program, brick stove building, etc; cooking classes and much more.
Airport reception service and overnight stay in Guatemala City are also available for an extra price: US$15 and US$20 respectively for each service. These services include transportation from the airport to the bus station, where you can catch a bus to Xela.
Prices in the program are: US$185 a week, plus US$65 registration fee. These prices include home stay with a Guatemalan host family.
