Int'l Summer School on Regulation of Local Public Services

Program Description

The Turin School of Local Regulation organizes the 21st Edition of the International Summer School on regulation of local public services that will be held in Torino, Italy, 3-14 September 2018.
The School is addressed mainly to undergraduate students at their last year, graduate students, PhD students, and officials from the Public Administration (municipalities, counties, regional bodies) and regulatory agencies who intend to study in depth some of the most relevant issues for regulation, tariff setting and management of local public services, included water and sanitation services, waste management, electricity distribution, etc.
Participation is free for non OECD countries and attendants from new (post 2004) EU Member States; very low registration fee for participants from OECD countrie. 2-week free accommodation in Turin.
Applications are open until 4th June 2018.

Program highlights

The programme combines theory and practice. In particular the programme is dividen into three parts:
- Part one: theorethical models and instruments for local regulation;
- Part two: sector (e.g. water cycle, urban waste) and country-based case studies;
- Part three: site-visits and working groups. In the second week participants will be divided into 4-5 working groups to develop a virtual local regulatory case study. The output is a final report and a presentation to the classroom.
