SCHOLA EMPIRICA (till January 2014 Center for Public Policy) is independent, non-governmental, non-political organization operating since 2003. Through various educational and training projects, we aim at increasing the quality of Czech public policy, improving social climate and civil coexistence.
SCHOLA EMPIRICA promotes an independent platform for the exchange of opinions and experiences between local and international experts in different fields of applied social sciences. The organization is active in research on the current social issues, definition and transfer of the best practices in policy design and implementation to the Czech environment.
For over ten years SCHOLA EMPIRICA, in cooperation with the Institute for European and National Strategies (InStrategy), organizes PRAGUE SUMMER SCHOOLS, bringing together talented students from around the world to spend an intensive academic week in the beautiful city of Prague. Selected international faculty of academics as well as practitioners turns each summer school into a working space where concrete aspects of important social, economic and political problems are tackled. Our aim is to contribute to understanding of selected current issues while fostering the international dialogue.
We founded the PSS because we believe that the exchange of views of individuals coming from different academic and cultural backgrounds based on high quality information provided during the lectures supports international understanding and may have a significant impact on the world's future.
