Descriere program
The Doctorate of Automatic Control and Informatics is a three-year or four-year programme taught in English language at the Faculty of Applied Informatics (FAI) of Tomas Bata University in Zlín. This study programme is aimed at acquiring further knowledge in mathematics and related disciplines of technical cybernetics, such as automatic control theory, process modelling, identification, simulation, optimization, and informatics. Moreover, the course focuses on technical measurements and control, including microcomputer, information and diagnostic systems, computer networks and computer-aided automatic control, i.e. CIM-CAD-CAM. After finishing studies, graduates will be able to develop theoretical disciplines and use the latest research findings in the design and control of technological processes.
Duration: 6 or 8 semesters (3 or 4 academic years)
Mode of study: Full-time/part-time
Degree obtained: Doctoral (abbr. “Ph.D.”)
Tuition fee: approx. EUR 1,860 per 1 academic year
Scholarship: First-year students may be awarded the TBU PhD scholarship amounting up to CZK 96,000 (approx. EUR 3,560) per academic year (full-time students only). Starting from second year, the total annual amount is based on the student’s academic performance.

• At FAI is education provided in the fields of information and control technologies, engineering informatics, security technologies, integrated systems in buildings, chemical and process engineering, etc.
• Research specialization: Process Modelling, Identification, Simulation, Microcomputer Systems, Computer Networks, Information and Diagnostic Systems, Computer Aided Automatic Control.
• The Faculty has modern laboratories with the latest, up-to-date equipment including advanced security technologies and the intelligent buildings laboratory.
• New Technology Park focusing on information and communication technologies was opened in 2012.
