Program Description
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) - is the study of how companies in a good way can integrate environmental and social responsibility into their business. We offer two 15-point courses, level 1 and 2, which can be combined in one semester. The courses can also be taken in combination with Spanish or the history of philosophy. The courses are offered in partnership with the University of Buskerud and Vestfold and la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
The semester starts August 31, 2015 and: February 1, 2016.
CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility - is a concept that deals with companies and organizations social responsibility - beyond what is required by laws and regulations. Social responsibility in this context means that companies voluntarily incorporate environmental and social concerns in their business. The majority of multinational companies today must be able to demonstrate strategies and documentation showing that they take CSR seriously. More and more companies are aware that CSR is economically viable, when it moves the focus from short-term profitability to long term sustainable growth. Corporate social responsibility is therefore much more than charity, because it rather focuses on the business itself to be sustainable. Competence of CSR is in great demand, not least by multinational companies who have established themselves in developing countries. The course is aimed to students and active workers looking to work in international organizations and corporations. The course can be part of a bachelor's degree, such as in business and social sciences.
The structure of the semester
Self-study period: before you travel to Argentina, you get acquainted with the subject and write a short assignment.
The main period: twelve weeks of lectures, field trips and seminars in Buenos Aires.
Home exam: at the end of the program in Buenos Aires you have three weeks to write your assignment.

Highlights
Field workThe objective of the course is that academic theory is portrayed and put into context with what you experience in Argentina. This is done on your own initiative, but also organized as field studies. We emphasize on the student to learn concrete and current examples that challenge the abstract concepts that the scientists enlighten in their books and lectures.
